Advanced Learning Skills and Paradigms
Seeking training is more difficult for advanced dancers since they usually have full repertoires and have already dismissed certain patterns and steps from their vocabulary due to the social complexities that arise in leading or following complicated steps at a milonga. After 7 years of teaching I have developed the skills, drills and techniques needed to facilitate a much needed advanced class for Tucson Tango dancers that will provide the technique, exercises and drills for helping the advanced dancer improve their social dancing and understanding of tango nuances.
As a direct result of my personal advancements, my tango is constantly changing and improving in both the social and performance arenas. So… yet again I am rebuilding my teaching delivery, style and approach from the beginning classes all the way to this advanced class. I will begin offering some rich and powerful material, combined with a profound method of delivery, in an advanced/intermediate class/workshop that will be held one Saturday each month. The training exercises and patterns I have prepared for each class will take you at least a month to integrate and incorporate in to your dancing.
I will show you how, where and why my dancing changed. I will show you exactly what I did to bring about the changes in my dance body and mind. These positive changes are the direct result of my methods of training, teaching, practicing and social dancing. It is NOT a result of talent, but rather working on proper training techniques.
This is not a styling class. I will not be guiding you in the direction of my dancing style, but rather I will be helping you discover how you may want to develop your own style or how to dance in the style that makes you feel the most comfortable.
To help you integrate the advanced material we will be available at the practica each Tuesday to help you review if necessary. Also I will refer to the same techniques each Thursday in our foundation and intermediate classes. After all, good technique begins early (you can come to the Thursday class for free or a make donation if you think you learned something!)–. AND I am offering a special price for participants to take a private as a follow up to the advanced class.
This is a limited offering due to space since the workshops will be taught at our private studio.

WARNING, do not show for the class without RSVP! If I know you, I can and will quickly assess your dancing and let you know if you are of the appropriate level to be in this class. If I don’t know you I will be happy to assess your dancing at the practica on any Tuesday @ 7:30 PM.
