Susana Miller workshop 2009

Creating A Calm Gentle Directed Movement

What struck me last year when Susana finished each workshop was a serine moving happening with everyone present. Sometimes when a workshop is over all I see are couples trying to make patterns work. These picture were taken as different workshops were summarized… WOW!

I bring some instructors to challenge our tango and I bring some to refine our community… Susana is coming to help you refine your dancing! ~RUSTY~

Take advantage of this opportunity to study with a great master teacher!!!

This is the last workshop until Oscar Casas in September and Brigitta in November.

Susana Miller is the most prominent teacher in the world today of the “milonguero” style of tango or what Argentines call “apilado.” This style is danced in the crowded clubs of central Buenos Aires. It is a strictly social style that emphasizes musicality and the connection between partners.

Milonguero Dancing with Susana Miller

Calmly moving together!

Susana has danced with and studied the old guard milongueros, each of whom has created their own unique style of tango. She has been able to decipher their distinct vocabularies and choreographic combinations, and is gifted in her ability to convey these to students.

Susana encourages you to employ more rhythm in their dance, to discover your own dance vocabulary, and to learn how to shape and shrink these in space.

For women, she encourages active following, in which the woman interprets the messages that the leader’s body and the spirit are sending.

Clarin, the major Buenos Aires daily paper, called her one of the four most important influences on contemporary tango, along with Miguel Angel Zotto, Gustavo Naveira and Gerardo Portalea.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 7-9pm at Rusty & Jo’s 3305 N. Pebble Rapids Place, Tucson, AZ 85712

Only eight pairs. (Classes will be reviewed during the following week on Wednesday, with the up to 16 of the same people) It is a collective class, semi-private at our home studio (3305 N. Pebble Rapids Place, Tucson, AZ 85712).

It will include individual and specific corrections, with practice time, review and feedback to each participant.

Susana recommends this since it brings very good results. This format is very useful and more relaxed than a workshop. It’s a more defined structure, but in a more informal atmosphere.

We will cap this event. So Hurry!
