Classtica – Cross Between a Practica and a Class
Class-tica Musical
The night before we left Sydney, Australia, we went to an advanced practica with some very good dancers where we talked, danced and dissected tango in fun, playful and brutally honest ways. It was inspiring and rewarding.
If you have been watching at all, you have seen that Jo and I have grown exponentially in our dancing over the past few years. Most specifically since we started teaching group classes at Arizona Ballet Theatre in 2006. We are a product of our own teaching. I have consciously examined this growth and I know exactly how we got here. I am fully aware that we will continue to grow in our tango. We would love to share our growth and the knowledge, exercises and techniques we use and have used to grow in our tango and our living.
This is why we are announcing a new way of learning and parcticing.
Tuesday 7:30 – 9:00 PM – Class-tica Musica

We are proud to announce a well thought out and planned: Class-tica Musical
This will be based on an honest but loving self-appraisal of how you are dancing and what it will take you to improve and grow. We will help you to learn and understand:
How to self appraise.
How to help your partner.
How to get out of the way and allow your partner to help you.
How to change your dancing now, not later.
How many times have you said: I wish I could dance like this or that?
How many times when someone makes a suggestion have you said, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am working on it.”
How long does it take to change a bad habit?
How can you identify a bad habit?
How can you be sure, among all the different styles, if your methods are working?
How can you apply good technique when your partner isn’t?
Leaders:
How can you be sure the lady hears you as you move?
How can you be confident if you are not sure?
How often do you find yourself finishing something you started whether it is working or not?
Followers:
Do you ever feel like you have no input in the dance partnership?
Do you have input in the dance?
Do you have to just follow?
Is it true that good followers make good leaders?
Would you like to discover a way of working out your tango that will help you and the leader?
If you plan on making changes in your tango, but you are a bit confused as to what to change first come on out and let us help you help yourself. It doesn’t matter what style you dance, we can help you help yourself.
Come practice with us. Reflect us and we will reflect you.
WARNING: If you are waiting for tango to happen to you or if you are afraid you might have to break a habit that is interfering in your dancing. Or, if you need to always hear that the fault lies with your partner. This practica is not for you. Class-tica Musical is for those that want to grow in Argentine Tango.
Love & Light,
Rusty & Jo
