Come join us on a professional floating wood dance floor in a charming environment. BYOB or a snack. The Friday Milonguita is free although a donation of $10 per person is greatly appreciated to help cover the costs of A/C, supplies, cleaning and repair.
We started the milonguita 4 years ago to give our students a place to practice dancing at a milonga. Since then it has become one of the best places to dance tango in Tucson.
My partner, Joanne Canalli is usually the DJ (though occasionally we invite a guest DJ), she is being recognized nationally as a very qualified and talented DJ. The tandas and codigos are all culturally correct and traditional, and the atmosphere is very friendly and warm.
Tucson Friday Night Milonguita
It is rarely too crowded, it always seems just the right amount of people show. There is no need to RSVP. The Friday Night Milonguita in Tucson is a magnet for good dancers and great floor craft. As you can see by the pictures the floor is quaint (about 600 sq ft) so floor craft is a given, the friendly attendees are always cautious and courteous. There is a beautiful back yard and when the weather is right we light a fire in the fire pit out back and open the sliding doors as some dance on the back veranda.
