We all use this move every day unconsciously as we turn around. Soldiers use it for an about face. All dances forms use it. Michael Jackson used it in his signature spin around, that was a Cambio Frente.
We will use this useful tool in tango to further expand your improvisation and connection. The thing I love the most about Cambio Frente is it inherently causes the lead to happen without a lot of thought. With some simple instructions you will be executing a change of fronts quickly and easily. I frequently use it to protect my partner from oncoming traffic, it works that quickly and effectively.
Cambio Frente is what you see in the picture above, it is the perfect follow up for the Milonguero Dip since the dip is also a set up for cambio frente. With the coming festival it will be a good time to close up the frames and dance in smaller spaces. Dancing small with be the focus of using the cambio frente in this 4 week series.
