La Cadencia – it is like coming home. It is the true north in our tango. La Cadencia is more than the cadence to the music, it is how we find one another and keep track of each other as we dance – it is the radar of tango. La Cadencia is the spring board for most everything we do in tango.
We will help you explore this powerful foundational element from basics to advanced, from parallel to cross system, from the cruzada to the ocho, from crucitas to ochitas to ganchitas. Come spend a fascinating afternoon with us as we share the power of connection to your partner, the floor/earth, the music in this fabulous dance we call the Argentine Tango.
1pm – 2:15pm – Connect with one another and the floor through the cadencia and some fundamental exercises and movements. How to get into cross system on demand. How to use the cruzada as a musical tool. During this class we will shed the skin of the beginner and move into the intermediate/advanced foundation.
2:15pm – 2:30pm We will watch a couple of videos and examine how some of the masters use this simple tool to go create elegance.
2:30pm – 4:15pm – We will bring in the music in a clear and concise way to give you an easy entrance to elegantly smooth steps with simple movements that are pleasantly challenging. The lines you create from this class will be stunning. Learn two of the most elegant moves in tango: The Giro en Cadencia and the Salida del Sol.
$45 per person – this will be a gender balanced workshop.
