Your relationship with tango will be completely different after the weekend is over, I promise

Argentine Tango is built on a solid foundation. Tango is a structure – a fluidly moving structure. This is why so many people are drawn to tango. We have delved deeply into the study of the foundation and structure of tango and we have taken these results and put them into four catagories:

The structure of moving yourself
The Structure of the moving yourself with your partner
The structure of the music timing and phrasing
Steps and figuras that are based on the traditions, music and culture

Tango is a dynamic event.
Nothing is in stasis, you are never perfectly still.
Even when you aren’t moving your heart is beating, you are breathing as you are poised for another moment of movement.
It is this pulse in tango that gives it a dynamic texture within its structure.
Often a student is told to stand like this and do this or that with their feet or frame – but then they have to move and it all changes. It is this dynamically moving structure that keeps tango forever vibrant, these are the fine points we will share with you in this workshop.

Do you feel like you are wrestling or jostling in tango? Do you sometimes get frustrated or irritated because your “steps” or “lead” and “follow” doesn’t work as smoothly as you would like? Do you have seen more patterns than you know what to do with and can barely remember any of them? Do you wonder where this tango journey is heading? If you answer yes to any of the above… even if you are a beginning dancer finding your way… this workshop is for you.

Rusty & Joanne are dedicated and trained to help you learn so you can retain the information!
"The formulation of a problem is often more essential than its solution..." - Albert Einstein

Argentine tango will always be new and exciting to us because of the philosophies we integrate into sharing the joys of tango – philosophies we also enjoy in our everyday living. By being genuine in our dancing, tango has improved our lives individually and together. We love sharing this journey with you.

Quote from Rusty Cline: “Tango is like Zen or Nirvana, the minute I say I own tango, it will ellude me. I will be deceived once again and delve into the illusion that I am my body, that I am a collection of my thoughts. BUT… Like Zen… tango will take away my illusions and prove to me that I am merely an observer here. I am no more my thoughts than I am an arm or a leg. When I am deeply and serenely immersed in tango, nothing else exists, I am at one with my partner, the music and all of creation."
